What We Do

BAWA Social & Recreational Hub

We create cutting-edge social and recreational programs designed to bring about positive change, enhance people's lives, and empower communities to showcase their strengths and exchange knowledge. Our portfolio includes over 100 programmes, including events like Fusion Day, Diversity Day, Bike Party and Bollywood Zumba. Our Hub is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and we are thankful to the National Lottery Players for making this possible.

BAWA Support & Advocacy

At BAWA Support and Advocacy, we are passionate about transforming lives and creating a more equitable society where every woman has the opportunity to thrive. Our aim is to provide comprehensive support and advocacy for these individuals, helping them reclaim their voice, build resilience, and achieve their personal and professional goals.

BAWA Art, Culture & Heritage Centre

Our commitment is to promote our culture and heritage, with a vibrant South Asian diaspora residing in and enriching Northern Ireland. We take great pride in showcasing the richness of South Asian Culture and Heritage through music, dance, cuisine, art, and fashion shows. In a notable event, we organised a Diwali Flashmob in front of City Hall in 2022, which received coverage in the local news.

BAWA Community & Charity Services

By engaging in local charity efforts, we actively support our community. Our combined efforts have resulted in the donation of more than 170kg of nonperishable items to the South Belfast Food Bank. Before the lockdown, we mobilided resources to assist with an indigenious boy's medical expenses. Throughout the lockdown, we provided PPE to a local trust and care home, as well as energy top-ups and sanitary products to the indigenous community. Additionally, we launched a food pack donation program for Belfast.
