The Belfast Asian Women’s Academy (BAWA) was established in 2019 to inspire and empower Asian women, addressing significant gaps in support and resources for this community. The organisation focuses on enhancing both physical and mental health wellbeing, fostering connection and networking among women, and building on existing community strengths.
BAWA is dedicated to supporting and advocating for victims of hate crimes, racism, and discrimination, ensuring that the voices of Asian women are heard and their needs are met. Through workshops, events, and social and recreational programmes, BAWA aims to create a safe and supportive environment, encouraging Asian women to thrive and assert their rights.
By promoting empowerment and resilience, BAWA plays a vital role in enriching the lives of Asian women in Belfast and beyond.
